Economy Sustains Expansion Despite Dropping to its Lowest March Index Ever
- PMI Composite in March 2016 rose by 2.08 index points from February (which index was the lowest February index ever recorded) as it typically did in previous years.
- The PMI Composite index, at 56.08, is the lowest March index ever recorded since PMI Composite started in October 2010. PMI Services did not pick up as fast as it did in prior tracking periods and was not able to pull up the composite average for March 2016, also the 3rd successive month-to-month build-up from a lowest index.
